As the official accommodation provider for the Hinkley Point C, HOST provides campus accommodation and an extensive range of facilities for the teams working on the construction of the EDF Energy Hinkley Point C (HPC) project near Bridgwater in Somerset.
Consisting of three campuses, Sedgemoor, Hinkley and Brean, HOST not only provides accommodation and leisure facilities, but in partnership with Bridgwater & Taunton College, also runs a dedicated Test Centre for the benefit of those working on the HPC project.
Located just a few minutes walk from the main Hinkley Point C site, the Test Centre offers a range of Health & Safety tests relevant to HPC project worker requirements. A range of qualifications are available under the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) and Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS).
The Construction Skills Certifications Scheme (CSCS) is essentially the leading skills certification scheme in the UK construction industry and achieving a CSCS qualification will result in the issuance of a CSCS card. This card provides evidential proof that workers have the appropriate skills and qualifications required for their role. A wide range of card types exist covering Labourers, Apprentices, Supervisors and Managers.
The Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) is a certification scheme through which construction workers can achieve professional competence using plant machinery. Completing these qualifications provides proof of ability to operate dangerous machinery, safely and is often a prerequisite for working on a project site.
These qualifications are well regarded with the training schemes playing a key role in the improvements and enhancements of construction standards and safety levels on construction sites throughout the UK.
A dedicated team at HOST are on hand to schedule bookings on behalf of individuals or employers. The HOST Test Centre currently offers various testing session times during the week and can schedule additional times as required.
Appointments can be made on an individual basis or as a group booking. Depending on the number of candidates requiring tests, dedicated sessions can also be arranged.
